Is a leather collar safe and comfortable for my dog?

Yes, leather is one of the gentlest materials for a dog's neck. Unlike nylon, which can cause friction and irritation, genuine calf leather softens and moulds naturally to your dog's neck over time. Our collars are finished with gum Arabic on every edge to eliminate any rough areas that could rub. As with any collar, correct sizing is key. You should be able to fit two fingers comfortably between the collar and your dog's neck.

Can I match the black collar with other Laelaps accessories?

Yes, absolutely! We offer a full range of black leather dog accessories, including a matching leash and waste bag holder. You can create a monochrome look, or mix black with camel or graphite for a more tonal, editorial combination.

What is the difference between embossed leather and regular leather?

Embossed leather has a subtle texture pressed into its surface during production, giving it a refined, structured appearance that plain leather doesn't have. It's still genuine leather — in our case, premium calf leather — but with added visual depth and a slight texture that makes it more resistant to superficial scratches and scuffs.

The result is a collar that looks intentional and holds its appearance beautifully over time.

What sizes are available?

Yes, our black leather dog collar is available in four sizes: XS, S, M and L.

To find your perfect fit, measure the circumference of your dog's neck and add approximately two fingers' width for comfort.

XS fits necks up to 25 cm, ideal for small breeds like Chihuahuas or toy breeds. S fits necks between 25 and 35 cm, suited for breeds like Dachshunds, French Bulldogs or Beagles. M fits necks between 35 and 45 cm, perfect for Cocker Spaniels, Border Collies or Labradors. L fits necks between 45 and 55 cm, ideal for larger breeds like Golden Retrievers, Weimaraners or Dobermanns.
