What sizes are available?

Our camel leather dog collar is available in four sizes: XS, S, M and L.

To find your perfect fit, measure the circumference of your dog's neck and add approximately two fingers' width for comfort.

XS fits necks up to 25 cm, ideal for small breeds like Chihuahuas or toy breeds. S fits necks between 25 and 35 cm, suited for breeds like Dachshunds, French Bulldogs or Beagles. M fits necks between 35 and 45 cm, perfect for Cocker Spaniels, Border Collies or Labradors. L fits necks between 45 and 55 cm, ideal for larger breeds like Golden Retrievers, Weimaraners or Dobermanns.

How long does a leather dog collar last?

A well-crafted leather collar, properly cared for, can last five years or more and often outlasts several nylon collars. Our collars are made from premium embossed calf leather with water-repellent stitching and stainless steel hardware with PVD coating. With simple maintenance, your Laelaps collar will develop a beautiful patina and stay strong for years.

Is a leather collar safe and comfortable for my dog?

Yes, leather is one of the kindest materials against a dog's neck. Unlike nylon, which can cause friction and irritation, genuine calf leather softens with wear and moulds naturally to your dog's neck. Our collars are finished with gum Arabic on every edge, eliminating rough edges that could rub.

As with any collar, correct sizing is key. You should be able to comfortably fit two fingers between the collar and your dog's neck — snug enough to stay secure, loose enough to be comfortable.

It's still genuine leather — in our case, premium calf leather — but with added visual depth and a slight texture that makes it more resistant to superficial scratches and scuffs.
